Lassiter Cross Country Coaches

 

Jim Reichenbach: Head Coach

Coach Reichenbach joined the cross country coaching staff in 1995 and has accepted the head coaching position for the 2010 season.  As an assistant Cross Country Coach at Lassiter, Coach Reichenbach has been instrumental in five Boy’s Cross Country Region Championships and the Boy’s Cross Country State Championship in 1998. 

Coach Reichenbach is also Lassiter’s Head Track Coach and has led the athletes to multiple Region Championships.  In 2010, the Girl’s Track and Field team won its first State Track and Field Championship in school history!  After this victory, Coach Reichenbach was named Cobb County Girl’s Track & Field Coach of the year,  Region 6AAAAA Track & Field Coach of the Year, and the Atlanta Track Club Coach of the year adding to his other coaching awards.  

Coach Reichenbach served in and is retired from the United States Air Force.  During this time, he was a member of the Air Force Marathon team.  He has competed in 11 marathons with a best time of 2:56.  His fastest 10K is 36:35, and he has run a 5K in 17:20.  These times were all reached after Coach Reichenbach turned 38.

Coach Reichenbach earned a Bachelors of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Ohio State University and attended Georgia State University for his teacher certification.  Currently, he teaches mathematics at Lassiter High School.

Lindsay Doyle: Assistant Coach

Coach Doyle joined the cross country coaching staff in 2008.   She is an avid runner with multiple-marathon experience.  Her inaugural marathon in 2006 was the Napa Valley Marathon.  Since this time, Coach Doyle has run the San Francisco Marathon, the Nike Women's Marathon, the Disney Marathon and the Goofy Challenge (half marathon followed by a full marathon the next day).  Coach Doyle has run the Chicago Marathon twice.    This fall 2010, she is registered for her third Chicago Marathon in addition to the Marine Corps Marathon in Virginia.   Good Luck Coach!

In 2007, Coach Doyle started training for triathlons.  Since this date, she has raced Sprint distance triathlons, Olympic distance triathlons and a half Ironman.  In June 2010, Coach Doyle raced her first full Ironman in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho! 

Coach Doyle graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Exercise Physiology and has earned her Masters in Education from Georgia State University in Secondary Science Education.  Coach Doyle currently teaches Physics and Biology at Lassiter High School and is also the Lassiter boy’s tennis coach.

Ed Hutcherson: Retired Head Coach

Coach Hutcherson retired in 2010 after teaching in Cobb County schools for 30+ years.  He has been at Lassiter High School since it opened and pioneered Lassiter’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs.

Under Coach Hutcherson’s leadership, Lassiter’s Cross Country team has been one of the most successful athletic programs in Lassiter's long history.  During his tenure, Lassiter’s Boy’s and Girl’s cross country teams accumulated a combined 20 regional championships and seven state titles.

Coach Hutcherson is a leader by his words and by his example.  He is known and respected throughout the Southeast and is considered an institution in the running community.   Character, work ethic, compassion, love of the kids, love of the sport, and championship results; no more can be asked from a Coach.

Speaking on behalf of hundreds and hundreds of families, we thank Coach Hutcherson and wish him all the best in his future pursuits.
